ICE in L.A. and why you should be worried.

The whole country is aware of the mass deportation of immigrants especially in L.A. The government lies and says it is going after evil, ruthless, Mexican gangs. However, even though they may have deported some gang members that is not the only ones they are targeting.

The president of the United States and his corrupt administration is going after good families, college students, immigrants who were legal and have now had their legal status revoked due to the Trump administration. They are even going after immigrants who are here for health care. The Trump administration has even deported US citizens by mistake and have also detained Native Americans.

The US military has been called to come into L.A. despite the Mayor and Governor not wanting them there. They are using the military on citizens of L.A. who are protesting which is their first amendment right to protest.

Why should you care? We should all care because constitutional rights are being taken from us more and more as the days go by. The immigrants who are being deported are not even given a hearing which denies them their right to due process. Now, they are also taking the constitutional birthright citizenship away from people.

Trump’s Department of Justice attorneys have questioned whether Native Americans could be considered non-U.S. citizens according to a 19th century law that excludes indigenous peoples from birthright citizenship. He has also stated that self proclaimed Natives owe alliance to their tribes and well that is me and my children.

My children and I are not white. We are from the Delaware Lenape Turkey Clan Tribe and I am the 10 or 11th great granddaughter of the Chief who signed the land deal with the colonist. Even though I have yet to be able to join my tribe I claim my native heritage and I am proud of who I am. However, now me and my children live in fear wondering if our citizenship will be taken by the bigot in the white house.

These are the first steps of a modern day holocaust. During the holocaust Jewish families were split up. Some family members would be told to get on one bus while others were taken and put on another bus. Today in America families are being split up. Some are put in vans and taken away while others are not. During the holocaust some of those families never saw each other again. Today some who have been deported already will never see or speak to their families again.

After they split families up during the holocaust and put them on the buses, the buses would then take them to a prison/camp where the conditions were harsh. Today in America after immigrant are split up they are taken to dangerous, harsh conditioned prisons. Trump has even made sure the prisons have scary names such as Alligator Alcatraz. Do we all not see the pattern yet.

It is time we stand together and stand up for our rights as a country. We must not let history repeat itself. Latinos, Natives, Black, Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, and White must

all stand as one now to ensure another holocaust or slavery or massive taking of our lands and homes do not ever happen again.
